Could be made better for the price - Although alpine is great to replace the item when it defaults, this product could have been made better. The tower itself is narrow yet sturdy, just make sure you plant it on a heavy base. I wish I could say the same for the actual blade spinner. Typically all of my wind spinners have a retaining ring holding in the bearing that sits center the blade. This unit has 3 metal tabs holding it in that became weak over just 2 months (stored inside during storms and heavy wind). It developed a wobble in the blade spinner and eventually broke off. If you email alpine they will replace the whole unit though so I still gave it 4 stars. Very cool unit none the less I love it even with its defect.
Windmill Too Light Duty - More for Decoration Where No Wind Blows - Windmill couldn't withstand even a couple windy days. Mulitple rivets broke and tin bent on the windmill blades. Housing that contains the bearing to allow the windmill to spin blew apart.
Not worth the money - Love the look but definitely flimsy for the price. My fan blade is destroyed from wind after the first couple months and I can't get a replacement.
Windmill - Love the windmill and customer service is excellent. My windmill broke and I was able to contact customer service and they responded quick with a solution. Easy to work with and I would purchase from them again.
Fell apart in a week. - The instructions are almost worthless. After assembling the windmill, we used the enclosed spikes to attach to the ground. Totally worthless! The whole thing blew over in a 30 mph wind. Probable needs to be imbedded into concrete. Made adjustment to keep the thing attached to the ground but had another windy day and the vanes literally flew off and landed about 40 feet away. Vanes are now all bent up so we contacted the maker for replacement vanes. Several weeks now and no response. I would not recommend this product. Waste of money.
Attractive Design - This is a beautiful garden windmill, I just love the design. However about a month after I put it up it the blades stopped turning. I've tried loosening the nut which works for awhile but then tightens up again as the blades turn. I contacted Alpine Corporation and they couldn't have been more helpful. They worked with me to solve the situation. Thank you Alpine!
