Defect in design. Do not purchase! - For the first month, this fountain was great. Loved the design, aesthetics, lighting, size, and sounds that it made. But after a little over a month, something inside the fountain, that couldn’t be reached or accessed, either slipped loose or broke apart — causing water to splash out, or shoot out of one of the openings that the water flows from. Everything within a two foot radius was wet, splashed on, or soaked. And it required constant refilling of water. I even tried putting a sponge to damper the water splash and slow down the flow of water, even after turning the pump settings to the lowest level. Important things to note: there are two openings at the top of this fountain from which the water should flow. This is the source from which the entire fountain gets its water evenly distributed. I’m not sure if I got a defective fountain, or if the hose inside somehow came dislodged, but there was no way to fix it or troubleshoot it. I contacted Alpine customer service, and spoke on many levels for many weeks with a lady in Customer Service named Melody. She was slow to get back to me, sometimes taking several days to respond. She made me feel very unimportant as a customer, even though I had purchased about $2000 worth of fountains from their company. It is also important to note that this was my first Alpine fountain, and ultimately had purchased two more after the issue. But in short, Melody was not very helpful, forwarding my videos to their quality assurance team? And then waiting on their response, that she would then forward back to me, never getting any further… The correspondence was just sloppy and went on for far too long with no solutions to get me another fountain. I simply asked for a replacement fountain and point-blank was told that they would not be able to help me and to just contact Amazon and start the return process. So, I’m giving this review to help others thinking of purchasing this model to think otherwise. When you spend close to $900 on a water fountain, you expect good products with an understanding customer service to help you replace or return a defective mode if you get one, but that wasn’t the experience I had with Alpine. I’m hoping the other two fountains I purchased from them continue to work. But I’ll be hesitant to buy a fountain that has two openings at the top from this point on. Amazon customer service ultimately helped me process a refund and I have since purchased another fountain from a different company.
